Can you see me?

Like you did that night

When my heart was of glass

You saw through it

My broken love beat there
And after the glass shattered
I think my shrapnel struck you

When my eyes were dead 

You saw behind them

My weariness wept there
And though my words claimed otherwise

I think my tone told you the truth
